1. How to design the bracket of heavy-duty casters?

The brackets of heavy-duty casters usually use metal materials as the main body, including ordinary steel plate stamping, cast steel forming, die forging and just forming, etc., mainly flat-plate assembly. The steel plate of the heavy-duty caster generally adopts the steel plate of 8mm, 10mm, 16mm or more than 20mm.

2. How to design the rotating plate of the heavy duty swivel casters?

Heavy duty casters usually use double-layer steel ball tracks, stamping and heat treatment. For the rotating plate of the extra-heavy caster, generally use the plane ball bearing or plane needle bearing with greater force, and match the cone-bearing, which effectively improves the load capacity of the heavy duty caster. For the special impact-resistant heavy duty swivel casters, the rotating plate is made of die-forged steel, which is finished and formed, which effectively avoids the welding of the connecting plate bolts, and improves the impact resistance of the caster with greater strength.

3. How to choose the wheel material for heavy duty casters?

Heavy duty casters are used for the movement of heavy equipment, so the wheels of heavy duty casters generally use hard tread single wheels. Such as nylon wheels, cast iron wheels, forged steel wheels, hard rubber wheels, polyurethane wheels, and phenolic resin wheels are ideal. Forged steel wheels and polyurethane caster wheels are especially suitable for extra heavy duty casters.

4. How to choose the wheel diameter of heavy duty casters?

According to the principle that the larger the diameter of the wheel, the more flexible the rotation, the common specifications are 4-inch casters, 5-inch casters, 6-inch casters, 8-inch casters, 10-inch casters, 12-inch casters, and extra heavy duty casters can be 16-inch and 18-inch casters wheel. Of course, in addition to the above dimensions, we can also customize them according to customer requirements.

5. How to maintain heavy duty casters?

• Regular lubrication and maintenance of the caster brackets, caster bearings and rotating parts of heavy duty casters.
• Although industrial heavy duty casters are of good quality, they also need to be cleaned and maintained. After use, the surface of the casters should be cleaned and dried in time to avoid rusting of the casters.
• To ensure the load-carrying capacity of heavy duty casters, regular maintenance and inspections are required to assess whether the specified load-carrying requirements can still be met. If the relevant parts are damaged, it’s necessary to repair or replace spare parts in time.

6. What are the criteria for judging high-quality casters?

a) The metal surface treatment is uniform in color, free of defects, the base plate rotates smoothly, there is no stuck point, and there is no vertical or lateral gap between the base plate and the bracket.

b) The color of the wheel is uniform, no variegated color, the parting line is small, and it is smooth to touch by hand. Smooth steering, no noise, wheel swing angle is less than 0.3 degrees (EU EN-12532 standard is 0.6 degrees; wheel diameter 50mm, measuring the left and right yaw clearance of the wheel edge is less than 0.13mm; wheel diameter 100mm, measuring the left and right yaw gap of the wheel edge is 0.26, an analogous measure).

   The axial clearance is 0.3-0.5mm after the assembly of the turning wheel (without bearing) and the bracket, and the clearance between the shaft hole and the shaft is 0.1-0.2mm.

c) Casters with brake functions must meet semi-automatic requirements, and the pedaling force is less than 10kg. There is no swing gap after braking the swivel casters. The thrust of 15% of the approved load does not move after braking. The effective braking times are more than 5000 times (the American standard is 1500 times).

d) Equipped with screw casters: After the screw is locked, the screw should not be 1.5mm higher than the plane of the nut to prevent scratches between the casters. The caster has a rivet structure. After the rivet is flanged, the rivet is not cracked, symmetrical, or flattened.
